Yes, we offer children's suit hire. Some of our collections include full children's outfits; others offer accessory packages to complete a look. Prices vary by package. We recommend contacting us or booking an appointment to discuss the best option for your child's age and the occasion.

Yes, we hire formal suits for any occasion. Popular events include Royal Ascot (we specialise in Royal Enclosure dress code), black tie dinners, proms, race days, Burns Night, and corporate events. We hire morning suits, lounge suits, dinner suits, tweed suits, and highland dress. If you have a specific event in mind, contact us or book an appointment and we will advise on the most appropriate outfit.

"Black tie" is a formal dress code, not a reference to wearing a black necktie. A black tie dress code requires a dinner suit, typically a black jacket with matching trousers, a white dress shirt, and a black bow tie. Despite the name, a regular black tie is not correct for a black tie event. At Black Tie Menswear, we hire dinner suits specifically for black tie occasions, as well as morning suits, lounge suits, tweed suits, and highland dress for every other formal dress code. If you are unsure what your invitation requires, bring it along to your appointment and we will advise.

You can book as soon as you have a wedding date, there is no such thing as booking too early. The ideal time to start is once you have both a date and a colour scheme or theme, as this makes suit and neckwear colour selection much easier. Early booking ensures the best availability, particularly for peak wedding season (April to October) and Royal Ascot.

Appointments can be booked online, by phone, or by email. Online booking is the quickest option: CLICK HERE. Appointments are strongly recommended, especially during peak season and are essential on Saturdays, when we are often fully booked back-to-back throughout the day. Walk-ins are welcome when we have availability, but an appointment guarantees your slot.

Appointment length depends on the type of visit. New wedding bookings and new bespoke or made-to-measure consultations each require approximately one hour. Suit fittings for weddings already booked with us take around 30 minutes. For initial wedding consultations, we recommend keeping numbers to a minimum, ideally just the couple, with one additional member of the party if needed. This allows us to give you our full attention when selecting outfits. Once outfits are chosen and the booking is confirmed, we arrange separate fitting appointments for groomsmen and other members of the party, typically in groups of up to three (around 10 minutes per person).

Yes. There is on-road parking directly outside our store on Church Street for up to 30 minutes, which is sufficient for most appointments. Free parking is also available approximately 100 metres away on the gravel road by the church, with no time restriction. Crowthorne is easy to reach by car, and the store is at 79 Church Street, Crowthorne, Berkshire, RG45 7AW.

Black Tie Menswear is a collect-and-return service only, we do not offer postal delivery. Customers collect their outfits from our store in Crowthorne, Berkshire, and return them after the event. We recommend getting measured in store for the best fit. If you are not local, we accept self-measurements submitted via our online self-measure form, in this case, we advise having your measurements taken by a tailor or menswear shop near you rather than self-guessing, for accuracy.

Do not worry, if your measurements have changed significantly since you were first measured, let us know in advance so we can prepare or better yet, book in to get remeasured. Ideally we like to have all final measure by 6 weeks before the event. The important thing is to tell us rather than leave it to the day, particularly for large wedding parties where time on collection day may be limited.

Yes, wedding groups are our speciality. The couple chooses the outfit, and we then measure each groomsman, usher, or father of the bride for the same look. We offer a group hire deal: every sixth outfit is free. Hire five outfits and receive six; hire ten outfits and receive twelve. There is no upper limit on group size.

Basic insurance is included in every hire package. The cover applies to damage that can be repaired (such as split seams, which can be resewn) and staining that our dry cleaners can remove. It does not cover irreparable damage to the fabric or staining that cannot be cleaned, in those cases, the replacement cost of the affected garment is charged at full retail value. If in doubt, treat the outfit with care and report any issues to us on return.

Return dates are agreed with each customer at the time of hire. The standard is one to two days after your event. During peak season (primarily April to October), we will need outfits returned promptly so they can be turned around for the next hire. We will always confirm your return date in advance so there are no surprises.

We offer both made-to-measure and fully bespoke tailoring, these are distinct services with different price points and lead times. Fully bespoke tailoring requires a minimum of 12 weeks. Made-to-measure can be completed in a little less time. Rush orders are available at an additional cost. The more lead time you give us, the better the result, we recommend starting as early as possible, particularly for weddings and formal events.

Made to measure and bespoke are two distinct services. With made to measure, your suit is cut and constructed using existing pattern blocks that are adjusted to fit your measurements, the result is a well-fitted suit built around a proven template. Fully bespoke goes further: an entirely new pattern is created from scratch specifically for your body. This means every seam, proportion, and contour is designed for you individually, with no pre-existing template involved. Bespoke is the higher investment of the two and requires more time, but produces a suit that is unique to you in both fit and construction. We offer both services to suit different budgets and occasions, book a consultation and we will advise which is right for you.
