Return and Refund Policy

Returns for Purchased Items

We have a 30-day return policy for purchased items, meaning you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition you received it—unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. Proof of purchase or receipt is required.

To initiate a return, contact us at info@blacktiemenswear.co.uk. If your return is accepted, we’ll provide you with a return shipping label and instructions for returning your package. Items sent without prior approval will not be accepted.

Damages and Issues

Inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect so we can promptly rectify the issue.

Exceptions / Non-returnable /Non-refundable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Custom products (such as special orders or personalised items)
  • Hire garments after the function date
  • Sale items and gift cards

Exchanges

To ensure you receive the item you prefer quickly, we recommend returning the item you currently have and making a separate purchase for the new item once your return is accepted.

Refunds

Upon receipt and inspection of your return, we will notify you about the approval status of your refund. Approved refunds will be processed automatically to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please note it may take additional time for your bank or credit card company to post the refund.

Additional Terms for Hire Items

Cancellations and Deposits

Deposits for hire items (£40 minimum per outfit) are non-refundable. Cancellations made within twelve weeks of the function date are fully chargeable. Special order accessories are fully chargeable within twelve weeks of the function date upon cancellation. Deposits left prior to May 1st 2024 are non-refundable.

Returns for Hire Items

Hire garments must be returned by midday on the first trading day after the function date, unless otherwise agreed. Late returns incur a fee of 50% of the hire fee per outfit per day, up to the full retail value plus surcharges for loss of use.

Damage and Loss

Hire garments include an accidental damage waiver covering minor stains or repairable damage (e.g., lost buttons). Irreparable damage, excessive stains, malicious damage, or loss are charged at full retail value. Garments with bodily fluid stains immediately invalidate the waiver, and full retail value charges apply.

All hire garments must be returned with their original suit cover and hanger; missing suit covers incur a £5 charge per cover, and missing hangers incur a £2.50 charge each.
